top secret muffins

as i was making these muffins for breakfast i had more then one question about the ingredients.

daughter #2 "mom...whatcha making?"

me "muffins for breakfast."

nephew "what kind of muffins?"

me "the kind you can hardly wait to eat, kind of muffins."

daughter #3 "with chocolate chips?"

me "yep. with chocolate chips."

daughter #3 "i love chocolate chips!"

me "i love you!"

the conversation went back and forth for a number of minutes. it brought a smile to my face. these muffins made me happy. not only did they create delightful dialogue with the youngsters, but the top secret ingredients made me feel like i was doing something extra special for them today. something healthy. they are chalk full of whole grains and nutrients that truly make me smile. and even with the addition of top secret ingredients, the wee ones didn't come up for air once the muffins came out of the oven. they were in muffin wonderland. muffin euphoria. muffin bliss. i dare say, go ahead...add these muffins to your repertoire and keep the ingredients all to yourself. you'll see just how quickly they disappear from your counter. they are delightful.
